About the role
Tekskillup Academy is offering a practical Data Analyst Internship designed to help aspiring data analysts develop the technical skills and project experience needed to work confidently with data.
This internship focuses primarily on SQL and Microsoft Power BI, two essential tools used by data analysts to retrieve, transform, analyse, and visualise data.
Interns will work with realistic business datasets, write SQL queries to answer analytical questions, build interactive Power BI dashboards, and communicate insights that support business decisions.
Unlike traditional classroom-based learning, this internship is project-focused. Participants will complete assigned tasks, receive feedback, collaborate where necessary, and document their work using GitHub.
By the end of the programme, interns should have practical projects they can showcase on their CVs, LinkedIn profiles, and GitHub repositories.
The internship is remote and part-time, allowing participants to develop their skills while managing other commitments.
What you'll do
- Write SQL queries using PostgreSQL to retrieve, filter, join, and analyse data from relational databases.
- Clean, transform, and prepare datasets for analysis.
- Use SQL functions, joins, aggregations, subqueries, and Common Table Expressions (CTEs) to solve business problems.
- Connect Power BI to data sources and perform data transformations using Power Query.
- Develop data models, relationships, and DAX measures in Power BI.
- Build interactive dashboards and reports that communicate key business metrics.
- Analyse datasets to identify patterns, trends, and business opportunities.
- Work on assigned data analysis projects involving sales, customer behaviour, finance, and business performance.
- Create a GitHub account, maintain project repositories, and upload completed SQL scripts, dashboards, and documentation.
- Present analytical findings and explain recommendations based on data.
- Complete assigned tasks within agreed deadlines and participate in project reviews.
